Mr. Ron Eby

Head Wrestling Coach Smyrna High School 1965-1977

Ron Eby attended the John McCaskey High School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania from 1957-1959. His wrestling career started at West Chester State Teacher's College where he wrestled for two years and graduated in 1964. His teaching and coaching career at Smyrna High School began in 1964 where he coached his first wrestling team and also served as Athletic Director for twenty-one years.

Ron built one of the most successful wrestling programs in the state and some of the greatest rivalries. Most matches between Caesar Rodney and Sussex Central/Georgetown were standing room only and produced deafening crowd participation. He was very instrumental in bring the sport to the level it is today. Ron coached thirty individual conference champions and eleven state champions in his thirteen-year history. He was selected as Delaware Wrestling Coach of the Year two times in 1970 and 1972.

Ron contributed to the development of wrestling in Delaware in many ways. He has served on the Delaware State Tournament Committee for over thirty years and is presently a member. He also helped organize the Henlopen Conference as it exists today. His legacy lives on at Smyrna where the Smyrna Wrestling Team celebrated its four hundredth victory on January 7, 2000 in a span of forty years. Ron Eby continues to contribute to the sport of wrestling in Delaware and is, and has been, a vital part to the success of our great sport.

Mr. Dulin coached a team that wrestled, what was considered, the toughest schedule in the state by competing in the Henlopen Conference and wrestling upstate powerhouses William Penn, St Marks, and Salesianum

In his 15 years as Head Coach, no Smyrna Wrestler went all 4 years of High School without  being on a Henlopen Conference Championship Team

Mr. Dulin ran the Smyrna Wrestling feeder program, the Smyrna Little Wrestlers, for 14 years.

Upon retiring as Smyrna High School Wresting Head Coach, Mr Dulin is still very much a part of Smyrna Wrestling.  He has been assisting at Smyrna Little Wrestlers practices, Smyrna Middle School practices, and matches, and still with the High School.
